I interviewed my 14-year-old brother, Adam. He is shy, hilarious, smart, creative, deep-thinking and sensitive, and I love him. He isn't an avid social media user, but he spends ALL of his free time making movies with his friends, writing scripts, editing his videos, and watching funny videos for ideas. My dad is a film producer, so Adam has been learning a lot from my dad, and is extremely dedicated and hard-working.

Here are some interesting things he said:
- I'm just posting dumb skits--it's just acting. I don't know. I'm thinking about the ones [movies] I've made . . . you couldn't know who I really am from watching those.
- [How much thought do you put into the things that you post on social media?] Not much thought...if it was like, Instagram, I would though. Youtube, you can just post something you think is funny, but on Instagram, it's like, I don't know. You have to post, like, the highlights of your life. It's kinda dumb. If I used Instagram now, I'd probably just do a bunch of pictures of my face like this [moves camera so it's highlighting double chins and a view of his nose], just to show how dumb the app is.
- [Why do you think it's dumb that people only post the highlights?] Because that's not accurate and . . . like, mom was looking at her Instagram, and I was looking over her shoulder and it's just like makes you feel like, "Whoa, how come they're so pretty or something?" But also, it's just like, "Why are you posting a daily story of you like, I don't know...like, umm, it's just funny how all the moms on Instagram are posting things like, "Look at this fun craft I did that I made up and it's so cool and cute for your kids and woooow!" and I don't know. I don't really wanna talk about Instagram right now.
- I'll start off by determining if it's real, and then you can judge it. (In response to reliability of sources).

I also interviewed Dave. Dave is my dad, but I call him Dave, mostly. He talks a lot more than Adam, lol. He is easy-going, loyal, funny, pleasant, hard-working and loving. I thought it would be interesting to get his perspective regarding both social media and the film/business side of things.
Here are a few tidbits from my interview with Dave:
- One reason I feel like I have to use [social media] is to stay current, because everybody else is doing it. That's honestly one thing. Another reason is for business reasons. Like, I want people to know me to know what I do, so that I stay top of mind, so that people think of me when they're thinking "we need to make an ad or do a video project or something" and it's just a way to keep things current with potential clients. And of course, to see what friends and family are doing . . . also just for curiosity. It's also interesting to see what people are doing and posting things, ya know?
- [How much do people know the real you based on social media?] I'd say 10% of me. Cuz I don't really share that much. I try to stay away from what I really think. It's very superficial . . . I do think some people are occasionally very open. Only occasionally will I read something where someone opens up and elaborates on an issue or opens up and shares something deep and meaningful. That's very rare, usually it's just superficial stuff.
- I usually look at social media because it usually makes me cringe a little. And I think I like that feeling of like "Awwww that's ridiculous!" And I think I kind of like that sometimes. . . it's entertaining and satisfying . . . maybe because I relate to it.
- I don't really look at social media as a way to get my story out there.
