Choose one inanimate object in the classroom to observe for 30 seconds. Notice everything you can about it, and imagine the history of this object. Then write a one-paragraph life history of this object as if it were a person, including some of the characteristics you noted about it.

Loved the creative depth I was able to go with in this assignment! It really encouraged me to use the skill and talent I had already with character development in theatre and stretched me more. I LOVED THIS.
ReplyDeleteWhat if you went further with this and had them write an expanded small story from this one-paragraph history, and then included other characters in it - boom! Creative story.
